BOSTON UNIV_363X220.jpg

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

The client wanted to make more productive use of its real estate holdings by offering state-of-the-art laboratory tenant space in the heart of the Boston Medical Center to institutional and private business sectors.

VALUE DELIVERED

The ability to generate real estate income, while increasing laboratory space and attracting more research organizations to the Boston Medical Center.

PROJECT SOLUTIONS

J.C. Higgins installed the complex HVAC and process systems that include steam, chilled water, and condenser water distribution. These serve the building's individual floor air handling units, cold rooms, research chillers, autoclaves, etc. The industrial heating and air conditioning system offers individual tenant metering via controls for all mediums (steam/water/electricity). J.C. Higgins also installed the central strobic exhaust system, serving the 248,000-square-foot facility's fume hood, specialty and general exhaust features.

J.C. Higgins commercial heating and cooling services met the building's cooling requirements through installation of Marley cooling towers and split-to-serve CHW plant and building condenser water systems (i.e., cold rooms, heat pumps, research chillers, etc.) J.C. Higgins also successfully accommodated aggressive tenant schedules.
